The Salimo Abdula Foundation (FSA) reaffirmed its leading role in social and technological development in Africa by highlighting itself in the 2nd Edition of the Young Leaders Lab 2025, recently held in Cape Town, South Africa.
The event, dedicated to promoting technological innovation in the service of African public health, brought together young talents from different backgrounds to diagnose real problems and propose solutions with concrete impact. The FSA was a strategic partner in this edition, strengthening its commitment to youth, education and sustainable progress.
During the event, participants benefited from specialized mentoring, technical support and evaluation by a jury of excellence. The highlight was the award ceremony of AMECCTECH Hackathon, which recognized the following projects:
- 1st Place – Peregrine Eyrie: Remote digital screening platform for early diagnosis in rural communities. Prize: R20,000;
- 2nd Place – Tech Ladies: Mobile application for maternal health monitoring, focused on risk reduction during pregnancy and postpartum. Premium: R10,000
- 3rd Place – The Compilers: Artificial intelligence solution for hospital data management, promoting greater efficiency in care. Premium: R5,000
According to Paulo Oliveira, President of the Salimo Abdula Foundation, "support for Young Leaders Lab reaffirms our conviction that youth, when equipped with knowledge, technology and entrepreneurial spirit, can transform not only the health sector but the whole African continent. "
The Salimo Abdula Foundation was essential to the success of the event, contributing directly to:

The ceremony was attended by social activist Josina Machel, who highlighted the transforming role of youth, and the Consul of Mozambique in Cape Town, Ivete Uqueio, who stressed the importance of international cooperation for the strengthening of Mozambican youth.
The Young Leaders Lab 2025 was organized by the Mozambican Student Association in Cape Town (AMECC) and TechSolutions, with the support of the Salimo Abdula Foundation and several Mozambican and South African companies that believe in the transforming power of youth and technological innovation.
