The Salimo Abdula Foundation (FSA) and FieldReady signed, this Monday, in Maputo, during the Energy and Gas Summit, a memorandum of understanding that marks the beginning of a strategic partnership to expand the impact of the Elevate Programme, an initiative aimed at combating youth unemployment in Mozambique through entrepreneurial training and innovation.
The agreement will allow the launch of a national digital platform for training in entrepreneurship, accessible to thousands of young Mozambicans, as well as a competitive innovation challenge, which will identify, support and incubate the best youth projects, connecting them to companies, investors and incubators.
According to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the FSA, Paulo Oliveira, "the Elevate Program has emerged as a response to one of Mozambique's biggest challenges: youth unemployment. With this partnership with FieldReady, we make a qualitative leap in the empowerment of youth, creating not only success stories but also concrete solutions that respond to local challenges and global opportunities. "
The partnership provides for three stages of implementation: National launch of digital entrepreneurship training; Selection and mentoring of the 20 best young entrepreneurs; and Recognition and support for the five (5) best projects, with seed capital, incubation and links to the private sector.
Through this initiative, the Salimo Abdula Foundation and FieldReady intend to train more than 15,000 young people across the country, promoting open innovation, critical thinking and employability.
The memorandum of understanding reinforces the commitment of the FSA to position itself as a bridge between young talent and the strategic sectors of the economy, including the energy and gas sector, opening up new opportunities for cooperation. To further boost this initiative, the Foundation invites companies, institutions and civil society organizations to join this mission to invest in Mozambique’s greatest resource – youth.
